NSW Police investigates Angus Taylor over claims of forged documents

The Prime Minister is refusing to stand down Angus Taylor while NSW Police investigate the potential doctoring of documents to accuse City of Sydney councillors of excessive travel expenses.

Mr Taylor admits he used false numbers to attack Lord Mayor Clover Moore, but says his office did not forge a false document.

He claims the incorrect figures, used in a letter to the council and given to The Daily Telegraph, had been sourced from a document on the council’s own website.

One Nation NSW leader Mark Latham tells Ben Fordham it is a difficult situation.

“In terms of who doctored the website, unless there’s proven wrongdoing against the minister, it’s very hard for Scott Morrison to act if he’s standing down a bloke who’s totally innocent.”
