10 people are dead and 15 injured after a white van slammed into pedestrians in Canada.

The incident occurred in Toronto while many workers were out for their lunch break.

Australian man David lives in Toronto and witnessed the terror.

He phoned Ray Hadley saying he was “right in the centre of where the attack happened”.

“I heard people yelling and screaming so I ran outside and then I saw the van driving like an absolute lunatic.

“It drove up on the curb and just started bulldozing over people. I’m not going to describe on-air what I saw.

“You never think it’s going to happen in your city.”

David has also slammed Canadian politicians’ refusal to call this an act of terrorism.

“They’ve not called this an at of terrorism.

“No matter what religion, this is an act of terrorism!”

Cabinet ministers from the G7 countries are gathered in Toronto to discuss a range of international issues in the lead-up to the G7 meeting near Quebec City in June.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he is seeking a briefing from authorities on what has happened.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by the terrible incident at Yonge and Finch in Toronto,” he tweeted a short time ago.

“Thank you to the first responders working at the scene – we’re monitoring the situation closely.”
