Neil Breen: QPS’ Hitler blunder ‘symptomatic of greater problems’
The Queensland Police Service has been left red-faced after a picture of Hitler was used in an online training module.
The Courier Mail reports a silhouette of Hitler was featured on at least two pages of a domestic violence training module, where an officer is depicted talking to a member of the public.
A QPS spokesperson says it was unintentionally used after searching ‘police officer silhouette’ on a design program.
Immediate steps have been taken to remove the image.
Neil Breen slammed the oversight and a lack of checks and balances.
“Where’s someone senior overlooking, I presume, the young person who’s put together this report, who didn’t know who Hitler was.
“If that sort of mistake is getting through into the coercive control online training module, what else is going wrong?
“It is symptomatic of greater problems, where someone is not properly casting their eye over things police have been asked to do.”
