Millions of dollars flooding in to save Aussie wildlife

Native animal rescue organisation WIRES is receiving more than a million dollars a day in donations to save and treat Australia’s unique wildlife.
Donors locally and internationally have responded generously to the bushfire crisis, giving nearly $10 million to the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service’s social media fundraiser in four days.
“It’s a little bit bittersweet I guess, because the reality is we’re facing this crisis,” says WIRES General Manager Leanne Taylor.
“It’s the long term impacts we’re starting to think about.”
Over half a billion animals are estimated to have been killed by the bushfire crisis so far.
