Kmart paedophile’s eight-year sentence to be appealed

The Queensland Attorney-General will appeal the “manifestly inadequate” jail sentence handed to the man who abducted a seven-year-old girl from Kmart and sexually assaulted her.
Sterling Free lured the girl from the toy aisle of a Kmart store at Westfield North Lakes and took her to bushland about 30 minutes away and sexually assaulted her before returning her to the centre.
The 27-year-old father of two was given an eight-year jail term, with eligibility for parole in two years.
