Katter MP refuses to accept Queensland Premier’s forced apology

Katter’s Australian Party has refused to accept an apology from the Queensland Premier after she was found guilty of contempt of parliament.
The Ethics Committee forced Annastacia Palaszczuk to immediately apologise after she threatened to remove the minor party’s parliamentary resources unless they denounced former colleague Fraser Anning’s speech calling for a Muslim immigration ban.
Queensland KAP MP Robbie Katter tells Ben Fordham he does not accept the apology given in parliament.
“They’ve done what was required of them by the Ethics Committee.
“We serve a purpose here in parliament to broaden the debate and whether you like it or not we should be allowed to say that.
“That’s a very dangerous precedent in Queensland if whoever is the government of the day can use their influence to tell people what they can and can’t say in the parliament.”
