A New York jury has concluded that Kevin Spacey did not molest actor Anthony Rapp in the 1980s. 

The lawsuit, based on 2017 claims by Mr Rapp that Spacey made an unwanted sexual advance when Mr Rapp was 14 years old, sought $40 million USD in damages.

Deliberations lasted just over an hour before the jury found in favour of Spacey.

The verdict in federal court in Manhattan brings a three-week civil trial, that was an outgrowth of the #MeToo movement, to its conclusion.
