Paul Gallen has been named the most “hated” Blues player from the last three decades by the Courier Mail, but the former captain couldn’t care less.

The paper lists the top 30 to make their “hated” list, with Greg Bird at three and Les Boyd at two.

Of their number one, the paper writes, “Big mouth, short temper. Was almost cartoonish in his villainy. King of the grubs.”

Paul Gallen joins Chris Smith saying it’s all part and parcel of Origin.

“I don’t care less what the two heads up there think of me and, secondly, I must have been doing my job right.”

On tonight’s game, Gallen says Blues fan do have the right to be optimistic given Queensland is without their big four.

“They do, without a doubt… but the players can’t be complacent… this Queensland side is a very, very good side.”
