Former WA premier warns against preference deals with Clive Palmer
The former Western Australia premier has warned a preference deal with Clive Palmer could be disastrous for the Liberal Party.

Former WA Liberal premier Colin Barnett tells Ross Greenwood a deal with Clive Palmer could harm the Liberal Party.
“I would expect that if the Liberal Party was to do a preference swap with Clive Palmer, there may be some gains in some country areas, but I think in metropolitan areas… they would see a loss of Liberal support.
“And that wouldn’t go to some other party… it would go to the Labor Party.
“I think Clive doesn’t have motives that aren’t entirely selfish.”
