Former Socceroo turned human rights activist, Craig Foster, has spoken to Neil Breen about the collective statement released by the men’s World Cup team yesterday. 

He said he was impressed with the bravery of the group, and commended them for standing up for equality.

“They’ve made a really strong statement for human rights in football,” he said.

The Socceroos are the first World Cup side to bring out a collective statement speaking against the conditions within the nation of Qatar.

“They have taken leadership of the issue,” Craig Foster said.
