Flood funding: Opposition Leader’s message to all levels of government

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has agreed the Commonwealth will pitch in on major flood resilience package for Queensland, after a scathing attack by the Queensland government.
After initially denying a request to fund half of the $741 million dollar flood resilience package, Mr Morrison has agreed to come to the party, but told Neil Breen it comes with conditions.
Queensland Opposition Leader David Crisafulli has a message for both levels of governments.
“My message to the federal government is pay the money and pay it quickly,” he told Peter Fegan.
“My message to the state government is unlike we did in the last lick of funding, spend it and actually make sure it’s available because we’ve got this argy bargy between both levels of government, and I don’t care if it’s Anthony Albanese or if it’s Scott Morrison, if I’m not happy I’ll call it out.
“And likewise, happy to praise across political lines.”
