A whistleblower claims a senior female staffer at a Hunter Valley prison has had an inappropriate sexual relationship with Norfolk Island murderer Glenn McNeill.

The staffer allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with McNeill at Hunter Correctional Centre at the Cessnock Correctional Complex.

Officers inside the facility have told Ray Hadley she allegedly participated in long one-on-one interviews with the prisoner in rooms with no cameras.

It’s alleged the interviews went for eight hours at a time, on more than one occasion.

NSW Corrective Services has confirmed the claims are being investigated, but no staff member has been suspended (full statement below).

Ray Hadley has been told the high profile inmate was moved to Goulburn Correctional Centre.

Full statement from NSW Corrective Services:

“We are aware of allegations involving an inmate and a psychologist, which we are investigating. This includes referral to NSW Police as required.

“No staff member has been marched off site at the Hunter Correctional Centre today and no staff member has been suspended.

“All program areas are surrounded by windows and are patrolled at all times by correctional officers.

“The inmate was moved to another maximum-security correctional centre for security reasons.”
