Electoral Commissioner recommends changes to undemocratic COVID-19 voting rule
The Australian Electoral Commissioner has approved a recommendation that could see thousands of COVID-positive Australians vote in the federal election.
People who tested positive for COVID before 6pm on Tuesday and missed the window for postal voting were previously told they would be unable to vote.
The Commissioner has this morning approved a brief recommending government changes the regulation to allow COVID-positive people from last Friday onwards to use the telephone service.
