Chris Smith says coal is the way forward after Australians headed to the polls and joined many countries around the world in rejecting extreme climate change policies.

It was widely known as the climate change election, with the Greens and Labor focusing many of their policies on a push towards renewable energy.

Chris Smith pointed to countries like France, Finland and the Netherlands where their populations pushed against extreme climate change policies.

“Around the world, people are waking up to the nonsense of climate change and finally taking a stance.

“We’re sick of greenies spreading their doom and gloom message about the earth without understanding that little old Australia cannot change the temperature of the planet.

“It is time to reinvest in affordable, reliable and clean power and that includes new coal plants.”
