Brisbane’s CityCat network may be up and running faster than initially expected after south-east Queensland’s flood disaster.

It was reported on 4BC Drive that the network may take three months to be repaired after widespread damage.

But Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner says it may not be as bad as initially thought.

“It’s becoming quite clearer that a lot of terminals fared quite well, they fared better than we anticipated in a lot of cases,” he told Scott Emerson.

In the 2011 flood disaster, seven terminals were completely destroyed.

He says he believes more terminals will be able to be brought back online before the three months.

“As soon as we can start them, we will start them.

“It might not be all terminals … as soon as we can get services up and running, we’d like to do so.”
