Cameron Dick ‘not in the business of making life easier’ for law breakers
The state Treasurer has defended a decision to slug Queenslanders more for traffic fines.
Cameron Dick last week approved a whopping 4.3 per cent increase in the value of a penalty unit to $143.77.
The increase will come into play from July 1.
Neil Breen criticised the move amid a rising cost of living and stagnant wages.
“How much have your wages gone up?” he asked.
“Have they gone up 4.3 per cent? Of course they haven’t!”
Mr Dick fired back, telling Neil Breen he’s “not in the business of making life easier for people who break the law”.
