Neil Breen has had a tip-off of an operation that targeted cab and ride-share drivers in the city over the weekend checking meters.

It’s in response to Brisbane Live’s recent reporting of shocking levels of price-gouging among drivers on the weekend in Brisbane.

Neil has previously highlighted stories of taxi drivers and ride share drivers holding young people to ransom, demanding outlandish fares to get home.

“Some anecdotal evidence I’ve got from late last week, is that there was enforcement in place where the Department of Transport and Main Roads had officers out there, hauling over cabs that weren’t running their meters,” he said.

“I know this for a fact, I’ve got some eyewitnesses.”
