200 hectare solar farm to be built on prime agricultural land
Locals in the NSW Central West are desperately appealing for help to stop a massive solar farm being built on prime agricultural land near Bathurst.
Photon Energy has leased a 203 hectare site, planning to build the Brewongle Solar Farm.
Nearly 400,000 2 x 1 metre solar panels will be installed near the centre of town, if given the go ahead by the state government.
Local land owner Peter Hennessy has told Alan Jones locals haven’t been consulted at all.
“This land is cropping land. [They’re] suggesting we can now crop as well. They’re making it up as they go along.”
