Volkswagen manager sacked for sexist comments

Article image for Volkswagen manager sacked for sexist comments

A Volkswagen business manager has been sacked for sexist comments.

The manager allegedly said to a young female employee “just show them your tits” after she came seeking advice following issues with customers.

The manager has been dismissed by the company but the problem has escalated to the  Fair Work Commision.

The commission backs the woman’s claims despite the manager denying the allegations.

Ross Greenwood speaks with Chairman of the Australian HR Institute Peter Wilson.

“The laws of the day on bullying and harassment are edged towards the view of the person harassed.

“The employee is given more protection now than they used to be.”
