The city’s Ukrainian community is banding together in the face of conflict with a protest set for this afternoon.

The Ukrainian Community of Queensland is encouraging the public to join them in King George Square in protest of Russia’s invasion.

Protest organiser Anna Golovchenko says Ukraine needs greater support.

“We need to react in some sort of way and show our position,” she told Neil Breen.

“And also ask for support and for help from Australia: traditional aid, economic aid and humanitarian aid for Ukraine.”
