Ray Hadley has been sent footage of an Uber driver watching pornography on his mobile phone while driving in inner Sydney.

The listener spotted the explicit video playing during the morning peak hour on Friday while driving on a major road at Zetland.

The Ray Hadley Morning Show contacted NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol, with Chief Inspector Phil Brooks paying the 55-year-old from Mosman a personal visit.

The driver admitted watching porn while driving has been fined $330 and three demerit points.

Uber responded with the following statement.

“We’ve been looking into the matter.

Our investigation has established there were no passengers in the vehicle at the time, however using a device while driving is against the law.

The safety of riders and the community is a top priority and we take any reports of unsafe driving seriously.

The driver partner will receive a warning in accordance with our community guidelines.

Any future conduct in breach of our community guidelines may result in the driver partner losing access to the app.”
