Two people have died overnight after a stolen car collided with another vehicle north of Brisbane.
The stolen Mitsubishi Challenger was travelling on the wrong side of Gympie Arterial Road at Bald Hills at midnight when it crashed head-on into another car.
The front passenger of the stolen car and the driver of the second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two others have been taken to hospital, including a woman in her 30s who is in a critical condition after she was initially trapped in the back of the stolen car.
The driver of the stolen vehicle has also been taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Police say the stolen Mitsubishi had evaded police in Lutwyche shortly before the crash but wasn’t being pursued by officers at the time.
The double fatality, and several other incidents, have caused traffic chaos this morning.
Traffic on Brisbane’s northside is also being affected by a police incident on the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge, as well as a truck and motorcycle crash at North Lakes.
