A security guard who assisted in saving two teenagers from a fiery crash yesterday has described the strained rescue.

A stolen car went up in flames on the M1 in the early hours of yesterday morning after it clipped a truck and crashed into a barrier.

Police say the five occupants were each aged under 16.

Bodycam footage shows security guard Wayne Heneker didn’t miss a beat to pull a 14-year-old girl from the passenger seat.

“I switched it on as soon as I arrived on the scene,” he told Spencer Howson. “They’re just children; they’d just been very, very foolish children.

“That’s why I’ve shared the footage to the media – because I want to get it out to these kids.

“Don’t do it. Just don’t do it.”
