A Sunshine Coast local is warning about a Facebook scam luring in desperate Queenslanders seeking out rentals.

Amanda Agland told Neil Breen there was nothing available, and then she was sent a post advertising a private rental on a community group.

She contacted the person who posted online about the property in Maroochydore.

Amanda was given the address and sent photos.

But she decided to do a drive-by to see the house for herself, and then it all came undone.
