‘Renewable energy ideology on steroids’: Luke Grant slams ‘appalling’ NEG

‘Rebel’ Coalition backbenchers have upped the anti-NEG ante this week, with at least ten reserving their right to cross the floor on the government’s flagship energy policy.

A series of crisis talks have been initiated by Turnbull to try and appease the dissenting conservatives. Their core concern seems to be that in a policy trilemma juggling reliability, price and emissions, prices will always be what’s compromised.

Luke Grant agrees, saying the NEG needs to be ditched immediately.

“This NEG – it’s hypocrisy, it’s greenie Kool-Aid stuff, it’s renewable energy ideology on steroids. It’s self-inflicted economic suicide – for absolutely no gain, no environmental dividend.”

“So why are we doing it?”

“In my opinion, we’re doing it to virtue signal. So that self-interested, career building politicians in little Australia can looks like eco-warriors to the UN. It’s posturing, it’s point scoring and it’s appalling.”

“It’ll see pensioners, business, industry and families, worse off.”

Listen to Luke walk through the NEG and its technicalities with One Nation’s Malcolm Roberts:
