Queenslander’s creative quick-thinking to save young pup from python

Samford Valley local Peter Lane was quick-thinking and creative when his 10-week old Labradoodle Charlie was confronted by a huge python.

As he explained on Brisbane Live, his wife was taking the dogs out around 9.30pm when she spotted a 1.8 metre python.

“She’s gone to walk down the back step and the snake had its head sticking out the step.”

He said Charlie, just 10-weeks-old, sniffed the snake and it leapt towards her, biting her in the face.

The snake had the puppy in a tight grip.

“She was screaming, so I grabbed the laundry basket and I thought I better come to the rescue!”

Neil Breen says it may be the best snake story…
