Queensland Government fails to deliver promised bus safety upgrades

Gary Hardgrave

The Queensland Government promised increased safety on buses; however, has failed to follow through.

Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Mark Bailey, pledged to increase the number of Senior Network Officers by 16, but instead lost 15.

Calamvale Councilor and Deputy Chair of the Transport Committee, Angela Owen, told Peter Gleeson on 4BC Drive, “Every resident has got the right to be able to get on a bus and know that they are safe, the drivers have got the right to be able to go to work and know they are safe.”

“It is not good enough for Mark Bailey to try to dump this problem onto the Queensland Police Service, that is not on…” Councillor Owen continued.
