A Coles supermarket worker in Yamanto was chuffed and shocked when he was named the most popular checkout star among customers.

45,000 customer comments were received as part of the supermarket giant’s customer survey.

Bruce Craig-Williams got the most votes out of anyone in the country for the company’s Golden Trolley award.

“It was a huge surprise, gratefully received … I was overwhelmed to be honest, truly a great honour, very gratifying!” he told Jason Dasey, filling in on Brisbane Live.
