Police investigate suspicious device found in Brisbane CBD

UPDATE
Police have reopened Ann St after a bomb technician determined an item to be non-suspicious.
It’s reported inside the package was a plastic pipe, with what appears to be a knife, fork and spoon.
Specialist police have shut down one of Brisbane’s busiest streets after they found what is believed to be a suspicious device.
Parts of Ann and Edward streets have been cordoned off after Queensland Police Service was called to investigate just before 10am.
Listeners phoned Ray Hadley to report a large police presence, saying traffic was also being diverted.
QPS says a suspicious device has been found.
TransLink buses were skipping stops on Ann Street on the advice of police.
It’s unknown what the nature of the device is.
