The Federal Government is investigating whether it should tighten rules around using super funds for weight loss surgery because it could impact retirement nest eggs.

More than $210 million in super was released between 2016-2017 on compassionate grounds, with gastric surgery the number one reason given for withdrawals.

Brisbane local, Ashleigh McIntosh has dipped into her super and says that she would do it all over again.
