Why a white spot might be threatening one of our favourite seafoods

Queensland prawns are a staple at every summer barbecue and family lunch, but the tasty critters are under threat from a tropical disease which has ravaged the population in South East Queensland.

The University of the Sunshine Coast’s Professor Wayne Knibb has been conducting the research which discovered the flare up. So far he’s found about one third of Queensland prawns have been or are infected.

Professor Knibb tells Mark about the possible long-term effects.
