Watch house kids controversy
The Palaszczuk Government is under mounting pressure to get children being held in detention out of the state’s watch houses.
As at yesterday morning there were 79 children in the state’s watch houses, some as young as 10 years old and the vast majority were only being held on remand.
Australia Law Council president Arthur Moses SC tells Mark urgent action is needed and one solution is to raise the age of criminal responsibility from 10 years of age.
