Volvo’s high-riding V60 Cross Country due to arrive

Volvo had a strong first half of the year with sales up 61.4 percent on the same time last year, Interestingly, its three SUV models now represent 98 per cent of sales. Its S60 sedan and V60 wagon posting just 76 sales in the period. Biggest seller, the small XC40 SUV in three petrol models and a 1.5-litre plug in-hybrid and soon in pure electric form. Volvo from this month moving its model range to some form of electrification by either mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid or full electric.

Due early next month its V6 wagon replacement, the high-riding Volvo V60 Cross Country. Just one model with 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired to a 48-volt mild hybrid system producing 183 kW and 350Nm driving all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic. This is a really good-looking newcomer on 19-inch wheels priced at $64,990 riding 75mm higher to the old V60 with 203mm of ground clearance.
