In the last few years, we’ve seen a move by many to use the services of a ride share company like GoGet for their motoring needs, less inclined to buy a new car. In other words, pay for a car’s use when you need it and don’t have money tied up in depreciation, registration and insurance, for city dwellers particularly it makes a lot of sense.  Recently joining the ranks of the rideshare business is our top-selling car company Toyota.

Deciding to call itself a mobility company now rather than a car company Toyota launched Kinto in Melbourne on June 1 with a national roll-out to follow. Kinto offers 11 Toyotas including Corolla, Camry, RAV 4 and Hilux – there’s no membership fee, simply get the App., cost dependent on vehicle, distance travelled, or time used. A Corolla hatch, $10.40 /hour plus 30c a kilometre or $72.00 for 24 hours plus 27 cents a kilometre.
