Teachers welcome calls for fewer holidays and more hours

Following the latest Gonski report on school performance, Federal Coalition MP, Andrew Laming has suggested ‘normal’ working hours for teachers, with four weeks annual leave including no marking at home.

Queensland Teachers Union President, Kevin Bates thinks the idea is good in theory, but tells Ben, it would mean having to reduce teachers work by 13 hours a week per teacher.
