Spiders putting the bite on childhood epilepsy

A form epilepsy called Dravet syndrome can trigger fatal seizures in very young children.

Now researchers at The University of Queensland and the Florey Institute have discovered something in spider venom that can help rewire the vulnerable part of the brain to triggers the seizures.

Associate Professor Chris Reid from the Florey Institute tells Mark tests in mice are proving very promising.
