Producer profits suffer as red meat sales rise

Lamb and beef sales are soaring at the supermarket, as producers struggle to break even at the saleyard.

Shoppers are buying more red meat, as falling livestock prices begin to impact retail prices.

Analysis by Meat and Livestock Australia has found over-supply is the largest factor in falling costs.
