Upper Hunter farmers have had a small win on the path of a 49 kilometre transmission line, but the hard work is just beginning.

Six properties on the Merriwa Cassilis Plateau are proposed to be needed by TransGrid for the power line.

Farmers have met with government officials who are proposing a different route for the line, instead of charging through prime agricultural land.
