NSW Premier provides a message of hope amid Omicron spread

Following the deadliest day of the pandemic, New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet is praising the work of the vaccinated and supporting an optimistic view of the Omicron outbreak.

Dominic Perrottet says the state’s success rests on the people of New South Wales.

More than 40 percent of those who are eligible for their Covid booster in New South Wales have now had the shot.

More than 2,500 people in hospital have the virus, and 184 are in intensive care.

It’s expected those numbers will plateau next week.

Premier Dominic Perrottet has told Luke Grant, the state’s success rests on the people of New South Wales: 

“From my perspective, I will always err on the side of freedom”. 

“Freedom is the default position for the people of our state,” he said.

But Mr Perrottet says while he’s prepared to implement restrictions and measures to protect lives, the hard work of Australians to achieve validation will not go unnoticed
