Former Queensland Premier Campbell Newman joined Jason Matthews on 4BC Breakfast to criticise current Premier David Crisafulli after the state’s credit rating was downgraded due to surging public debt. 

Newman warned that skyrocketing interest costs will force higher everyday taxes and urged the government to boost revenue by reversing coal royalty hikes and lifting the uranium mining ban.
