Daniel Mookhey, Shadow Treasurer / Shadow Minister for the Gig Economy, joins Luke Grant to respond to the government’s budget and the appalling purchase of land near Rosehill Racecourse.

In a spendathon from the Berejiklian Government, the 2021/22 budget contains a deficit of $7.9bn for the current year, jumping to $8.6bn for the following 12 months.

It’s a long way into the red, but it could have been worse.  Four months ago, Treasurer Dominic Perrottet pointed to a $13.3bn deficit, but the booming property market had provided a boost to stamp duty.
