New year, old problems: Queensland teachers start 2026 without a deal

As Queensland students return to the classroom for the first day of school in 2026, teachers do so without a resolved pay agreement.

Queensland Teachers Union President, Cresta Richardson, joined Dean & Sofie on 4BC Breakfast to highlight that while morale remains high for the new term, the core issues of teacher shortages and safety remain unaddressed by the government.
