An early morning fire has severely damaged a derelict property on Monmouth Street in Morningside, leading to a complete shutdown of the street.

Five fire crews successfully extinguished the blaze, and investigators are now checking the abandoned home to ensure no squatters were inside and to determine the cause of the fire.
