The latest annual Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) survey has shown older Australians are experiencing the greatest income inequality and poverty of any age group.

Over 65s are the only age group for whom inequality has increased significantly over the last 15 years.

Dr Kirsty Nowlan from the Benevolent Society tells Mark says some of the findings have taken her by surprise.
