Menindee Lakes milestone

Any day now the volume of water in the Menindee Lakes will surpass the threshold that’ll see the Murray Darling Basin Authority able to call on water be released for downstream.

Once the volume of water in the lakes surpasses 640 giga litres, some of it can be released as required downstream to Victoria and South Australia.

The last time this happened was in December 2017.
