Levels of homelessness continue to climb
We’ve had 26 consecutive years of uninterrupted economic growth in this country. Yet despite this wealth expansion, homelessness in Australia went up 14% in the five years between 2011 and 2016.
This means that for every 10,000 people in Australia, 50 are homeless. Alarmingly, more the 43,500 homeless people are under the age of 25.
