The Billie Jean King Cup will be held at Pat Rafter Arena this April, where Australia will face Colombia and Kazakhstan in the qualifying round.

World No. 76 Kimberly Birrell has been announced in the team.

One of the Australian coaches and tennis legend, Sam Stosur, told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports, “You’ve got to be on your game…to beat both countries hopefully, and progress through.”

“It’s great that we’ve been able to name Kim,  I’m really, really happy to see what Kim’s been able to do in recent months,” Ms Stosur continued.
