Is this the death of Go Card?

The Queensland government has announced it’s to spend $371-million to become the first state in Australia to introduce a new smart system for public transport ticketing.

The system will allow commuters to use their smartphones, debit and credit cards to tap-and-go.

Go Card operator Cubic won the tender and its Asia-Pacific boss Tom Walker tells Ben it will be rolled out between now and 2022.
