How new youth justice schools will help clean up youth crime

Ben Davis

Two new youth justice schools will commence enrolments next year as the state government pushes on in their bid to clean up youth crime.

Ohana For Youth CEO Aaron Devine says the schools for students on youth justice orders will provide a special assistance school curriculum aimed at engaging each student.

“One of the key parts of the program is finding what the young person, what the student is really interested in, what they want to learn about,” he told 4BC Mornings.

Mr Devine says they anticipate most referrals will come from youth justice caseworkers, but some referrals will come from other sources.
