On the show today: Gardening Hour sees Arno King stepping in for Paul Plant. Arno and Olympia discuss growing veggies and fruit from the produce you buy in the store. Arno talks us through some of the good options, including sweet potato and potted herbs. Arno also answers your questions about growing Japanese pumpkins, ripening passionfruit and treating silverbeet using full cream milk. PLUS Arno introduces his plant of the day: Lime trees! Arno discusses the different types of limes and their various applications in cooking and cocktails.

In the second hour; Olympia shares an investigation currently underway that is looking into protected trees that were allegedly removed at Coorparoo. We hear from a local resident who sheds more light on the matter and the effect this will have on the local Koala’s who inhabit those trees.

Olympia is also joined in studio by Olympic rhythmic gymnast Saskia Broedelet, who is one of many Queenslanders heading to Paris as part of our biggest Australian Olympics Gymnastics team ever. Saskia talks about her journey and how she is feeling ahead of her team’s quest for a gold medal!
